A Good Sinatra Bio.

I am amazed at all Frank Sinatra did. Bipolar Disorder is not easily managed. There were no medication‘s in the 50s 60s for the disorder. It does explain for me as a mental health worker some of his behavior. The other side of that is an incredibly talented man. He was a good actor as well as a singer. Many years ago, I worked with a nurse who had been a maid for Sinatra. She spoke glowingly of his kindness, and the way he took care of other people. It was a side of him you never heard about. Some of that comes through in this bio.

Taraborrelli Did it Again

J Randy Taraborrelli is quickly becoming my favorite Author. When you're listening to the story and a question pops in your head he answers it in the next sentence or 2 he doesn't leave a stone unturned I love reading autobiographies.

Never knew he was such an ass!!

I got this after I listened to a podcast about him. I was hoping to learn a little more about him than the 35 min podcast gave. I was beyond surprised to hear what his mom did (performed basement abortions) and how he acted and treated people. I guess you never know how much like us those in show business really are, and we give them more power to act that way when we buy their music or watch their movies....none of us are perfect and we all do things we wish we hadn't. It sounded like his mother's early life didn't sit well with him, as it shouldn't, but the way he treated others, especially close friends....wow...just, wow. It's worth listening to but I wish I could now sell it as I won't listen to it again.

Well done!

I’ve read many Sinatra books and a lot of them don’t paint a very nice picture of him, they show his temper. He was a warm caring man who took care of his friends and family and was very charitable. I learned more about him in this book and it showed what a loving Father he was.

Frank

if you like Frank Sinatra, you like this book. I enjoy biographies and this is a good one. Frank was a complex man, a good actor, a great singer, and full of charisma.

Bit of a love fest

I’ve read a lot about FS. This was good. And, a bit PG.
Also, except for BS own ‘Lady Blue Eyes’ book, I’ve never read such a positive perspective on her; I’d wondered if she helped ‘ghost write’ the book.
I’d still recommend.

He has a great voice.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Make it shorter. Way too long.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

F. Sinatra was not a nice person. Complete egotist who bent circumstances to suit only him.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is a great narrator. Does familiar voices very well.

Did Sinatra inspire you to do anything?

Stay true to my values.

Any additional comments?

I'll keep listening to the Frank Sinatra channel on Sirius XM.
