Hidden away near the end of Long Island, New York, is a community where affluent African Americans, their friends, and the wannabes have secretly vacationed for more than 75 years. Unlike the bluffs of Martha’s Vineyard, black folks here own five miles of prime beachfront. With a mix of legacy families, new money, hangers-on, and thirsty developers, drama can never be far behind in a place called...the BLACK HAMPTONS.

If you can count on one thing from "Madea" Mabel Simmons, star of Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion, it's that she's got something to say. She's the beloved, hilarious, sharp-witted, pistol-packing grandmother who's watching out and speaking her mind. Now Madea is telling her own story, dishing her memoirs and hard-won, hilarious wisdom in her own inimitable voice (with a little help from her friend Tyler Perry).

Holy Mayhem stars down-on-their-luck cousins Patience Kash and Joy Karry as they attempt to turn themselves into crime-solving, miracle-working private detectives. Their first cases are doozies - someone’s stolen a precious family Bible, and church funds have disappeared without a trace. A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

The funniest book ever
What did you like about this audiobook?
This is my first time reading this book on audio, I originally read it about eight years ago. I must say I was truly delighted with the narrator. She did an outstanding job.
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
Sister Hellraiser. The way she cuts up, reminds me of so many of my family members. I bought the next book before I finished the first one. And the original question asked "Who was my favorite character?" SISTER HELLRAISER
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
How Mrs O'Gorge-Walker does it don't know but, I love it!
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
Nothing at all. She was flawless!

Funny and Pointed
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. The characters and their names were hysterical. Laughter with a lesson isn’t easy and Pat G’orge-Walker nailed it! I am usually not too impressed with the narrators, but Ms. Mitchell could win an award in my opinion.
Thank you.
