About this listen

A strange houseA ghost from the past

As soon as she moves into Hillside, Gwenda knows there’s something strange about this house.

A sealed room. A hidden door. The apparition of a young woman being strangled.

But strangest of all – this all seems quite familiar.

As her friend Jane Marple investigates, the answer seems to lie in a crime committed nearly twenty years ago.

The killer may have gotten away with murder. But Miss Marple is never far behind.

Never underestimate Miss Marple

‘Reading a perfectly plotted Agatha Christie is like crunching into a perfect apple: that pure, crisp, absolute satisfaction.’

Great Performance

The mystery is solid, if not a little farfetched, but the performance elevates it. The narrator gives each character a distinctive voice and you can almost visualize the scenes. Very enjoyable listen.

Miss M does a little weeding in the garden

Stephanie Cole has given a very good performance in this little gem from Christie.

Without doing a second reading, I think most of the clues are out there for us to wonder 'Who done it?' and maybe solve this mystery.

While Miss M still has her knitting, she engages in a little work in the garden in this story.

For me while the storms rage outside and the creek swells with water to flood the valley further down, and the power lines are down I have been able to curl up on the couch and listen to this great little story. Maybe this is why some people call such mysteries,'cozies'.

Perhaps not perfect, this was good and is the best Miss M story I have heard on Audible.

exceptional reading abilities - just perfect

such talent of doing voices and make the characters alive - the perfect foil for Agatha Christie's beautiful mystery and the inimitable Miss Jane Marple!
