About this listen

Are you the kind of person who notices the small and not-so-small events that occur around you as you make your way through life? Or do you put your blinders on and try to go through your day checking off the to-do list? What if, instead of just moving through your day, you found a moment to stop, notice, and ask yourself, "What can I learn from this?" So I've Been Thinking is a series of stories about everyday life experiences. Although we are individuals, at the core of our being, we share the same pride in our families, traditions passed from generation to generation, and the ups and downs of life. There is an unseen web that connects each of us together.

While listening, you might find the corners of your mouth begin to rise; perhaps a laugh will slip through, or a tear will slide down your cheek. Although the details may be different, the daily lessons we can gather from even the smallest interactions can be very similar. Each of the tales in this book is taken from the experiences of the writer, with the permission of her friends and family. Of course, everybody recognizes themselves. Yet every listener that picks up this book will find the story or stories that were written just for them. This is not a self-help book. However, it is a book about life: yours, mine, and ours. While listening to this book, the writer hopes that you will discover new ways to cherish your life and find moments filled with joy.

All the feels...

I find myself in the somewhat unique position of being intimately acquainted with the author. So much so, that she knows, I will pull no punches here. I’m so excited for, and proud of this direction for her. When “So I’ve Been Thinking” was finally released, I of course purchased a copy in support of my friend. As life would have it, as much as I wanted to, I was unable to find the time in my own creative life to sit and read it. And then… the audiobook. YESSSSS… It can accompany me on my morning walks, checking off a couple of boxes.
As I listened, I found myself triggered (in the best way) by so many relatable topics. I smirked, I laughed out loud, I welled up, and I outright cried. Though her storied experiences were not mine (except for a few(I did get a mention on a few pages)), I know this book will tickle anyone’s fancy, who’s had some life experiences. Judy has an easy way of drawing you into her world, and allowing you to be inspired to remember things perhaps suppressed or forgotten in yours.
Again, in a unique position, I totally enjoyed the narrator’s voice in this, as she totally captured the essence of the author.
Whatever your preferred way to absorb this content, I highly recommend “So I’ve Been Thinking”
