I’ve spent years caring for others, my children, my grandchildren, but rarely slowed down to care for myself. This book helped me understand how deeply trauma can live in the body, and how we can begin to release it through breathwork, gentle movement, journaling, and mindfulness. I appreciated how it explained everything in plain language without being too clinical or complicated.
What touched me most is that the exercises didn’t make me feel broken, they made me feel whole, like I was finally connecting the dots between my body, my emotions, and my past. I’ve even used a few of the grounding techniques while spending time with my grandkids. It helps me stay calmer, more present, and more joyful around them.
