About this listen

Do Your Arguments Feel Like a Never-Ending Tug-of-War?

Love doesn’t come with a manual, and let’s face it—fights over thermostat settings, forgotten anniversaries, and whose turn it is to clean the bathroom aren’t exactly covered in romantic comedies. But what if arguments didn’t have to feel like a chore or a crisis? What if they could actually bring you closer?

Sparring with Love: A Humorous Guide to Arguing with Your Partner Without Packing Your Bags is here to show you how. Packed with practical advice and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, this book helps you navigate the quirks, conflicts, and chaos of real relationships. It’s not about avoiding fights—it’s about fighting smarter, reconnecting faster, and laughing through it all.

With bite-sized wisdom and relatable humor, Sparring with Love will show you how to:

  • Turn arguments into opportunities for growth (even when it’s about socks on the floor).
  • Master the art of timing so you’re not hashing things out at 11 p.m. when you’re both exhausted.
  • Express your needs without triggering World War III (or tears).
  • Bring humor into heated moments—because laughter really is the best diffuser.
  • Compromise creatively so neither of you feels like you’re losing.
  • Repair and reconnect after fights with strategies that actually work.
  • Embrace love’s imperfections—and find joy in the quirks that make your relationship yours.

This isn’t a book about perfection—it’s about persistence. It’s for anyone tired of feeling like every argument is a battle to win and ready to create a relationship where disagreements deepen connection instead of driving you apart.

Genuinely helpful and fun

This book had us in stitches at times. It does help to listen to it when you’re not in the middle of an argument lol but a lot of the tips can really work and the advice about the type of person you are in an argument really makes you look at yourself in a serious way too. I could hear a lot of my traits being read out to me and when it’s someone objective saying it then it makes you think differently.

It's just nice to listen to a book that doesn’t take the subject matter too seriously and has a refreshing approach to something that can lead to a very dark place when not handled correctly.

Taking on disagreement differently.

Even the best relationships have disagreements. We have been together almost 20 years and rarely disagree, but we also are always looking to improve our relationship. I believe it takes love and learning to stay together. This book takes a humorous angle on dealing with disagreements. I loved it; finding ways to change the argument into a growth situation is one of the tactics I most related to. This book is well written, and the audio is super easy to follow even while in the car.

Fight for a Fun Loving Marriage with this Guide.

This book is better than high-priced therapists! I have already applied some of the fun tips! Acknowledging that there will be some heated arguments with a need for time out was practical advice. But coming back with the proper mindset and timing was incredibly helpful. We need more humor in our lives, and this is the book to bring back the fun in the marriage. Life is stressful and we need our partner to be a safe sparrer. This book made me laugh and reminded me to play and love. Thanks so much for putting the fun back. I do appreciate and recommend this book!

Fights Don’t Feel So Awful Now

This book made me laugh while actually teaching me better ways to handle arguments with my partner. We’ve had our share of silly spats, and the tips here really helped us communicate without things spiraling. It’s not preachy or boring—it’s relatable and even fun to read. I’ve already noticed less tension in our conversations and more understanding. If you’re in a relationship and want to argue less (or at least better), this is definitely worth checking out!

Learning to Laugh Through Conflict

This is a really good audio book, well-balanced between humor and practical advice. I especially enjoyed the way the arguments were posed as an opportunity to come closer instead of being something to be afraid of. For me, tips about timing and using humor in tense moments were very helpful. It made me realize that disagreements don't have to feel like some sort of competition but could strengthen one's bond if approached thoughtfully. Light in tone yet incisive, hence easy to listen to and apply in real life.
