About this listen

Spirit touches us in every moment of our existence; only most of us are caught up in the dramas that we have created in our lives, blinding us to a reality far greater than anything we can imagine with our rational minds. It is simply a matter of awareness. Though we often feel lost and abandoned in a cold and uncaring world, the truth is that we live in the illusion of our own self-created exile, away from the Source of our being which has never stopped loving us - unconditionally.

The time has come to awaken and pass through the darkness of our fear induced slumber to embrace the light of truth, and find our way back to the infinite light of love that comes to us from the Source of all creation. Awareness is presence, which means being fully present, in the present, right here, right now, in this moment, standing in the light of truth, which is the greatest present anyone can receive.

Matthew Pallamary's Spirit Matters chronicles his life long search for truth, which took him from the false spirituality of a violent concrete jungle in an Irish Catholic ghetto in Boston, to the discovery of true spirituality in the jungles of the Amazon where he discovered the truth. Spirit does matter.

Spirit Matters took 1st Place in the San Diego Book Awards for Best Spiritual Book.

Spirit Matters was also an award winning finalist in the national Best Book Awards.

Fantastic Life Story and Lessons

The writing pulls me in. Clearly written and engaging. I stayed for the story: deep, full of insight and it even extends a hand back, inviting the reader to join the author on a path with heart. This author’s memoir is riddled with wisdom. Hang tight through the earlier, darker, more violent portion, know he’s teeing it up for an epic finale!

If this at all tickles your fancy, give this one a listen!

Exciting journey will inspire

A well crafted real life journey that will inspire. The ever present spirit saw a way out of a dark life filled with, fear, anger, thugs, crime, drugging and murder and into a life of love, peace, more drugs and a fully integrated happy person. Yay for the happy ending.

Fabulous Read

Where does Spirit Matters rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A Big 5!

I’m a lover of real books, I like to touch and feel them, turn the pages, but Matt’s book - Spirit Matters via Audible has made me a believer in listening to story. It’s a special gift to be told a story directly by the author. It felt like I was right in front of him as he was telling me his story delving into his life as I was learning new things. He introduced me to his family, friends and his childhood as a carefree boy getting into mischief as curious boys do. I walked down the streets where he lived then he took me on his spiritual journey where I felt safe to go because he’d revealed his own spirit, one of loyalty and trust.

What did you like best about this story?

I love learning new things and I’m fascinated by Mother Nature’s humongous garden that of which Matt is a plant expert. He devours a ton of information and goes on to develop concoctions of special plants to help enhance his mind to take adventures through the spiritual door, to another place, another time and other dimensions. I found myself wanting to go with him. He is a natural teacher and there are subtle nuances in his voice that picked me up and placed me into in the jungle with him. Each experience takes him deeper into his spiritual path and he learns more about himself and the Universe than he could probably ever put into words on the page.

A must read or listen to take you places you might not have gone before and will make you hungry or at least curious to go deeper for yourself!

Which character – as performed by Matthew J. Pallamary – was your favorite?

Himself, because it was his journey.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I finished it in four nights only because I value sleep. It was hard to put down.

Any additional comments?

More. Would love to know more about Matt's spiritual experiences.
