About this listen
Now, presumed dead, she prefers to keep a low profile. Working as a pilot on a freighter ship, she occasionally accepts the odd refugee passenger to appease her humanitarian conscience. But things go downhill when her cargo turns out to be none other than the princess of a foreign race and her two bodyguards.
Embroiled in a galaxy-wide scheme, Captain Colderaro finds herself dodging the Confederacy Task Force, space pirates, and mercenaries intent on capturing the princess.
Can she make it to the foreign planet without losing or damaging her cargo and still protect her identity?

Story
My escape plan fell by the wayside. I’m now entrapped in the tenacious clutches of the very people I’ve been running from. Yet, when I find the opportunity to damn the Resistance and free myself, I withhold vital information. Deep in my heart, I believe in their cause. Torn between a life on the run, the Resistance, and helping the Houses prevent a war, I finally make a choice . . . but it’s much too late. The lives of loved ones are on the line. And now, to save everyone, I must surrender to the beast within–even if it means losing myself to the shadows.

Now, I live on the fringes of society, stealing to support my aunt and brother. But today, everything is about to change. 1803. The Napoleonic Wars. A Royal Navy warship is ordered to pursue an enemy frigate to the icy waters far south in the Indian Ocean. There, it must capture the enemy ship and retrieve a mysterious sea chest, contents unknown, failure not permitted. For the determined young captain and his eager crew, this already dangerous mission turns into a battle with a mysterious vessel that appears not in the sea, but unbelievably, impossibly, in the sky above. But nothing could prepare the crew for what lay beyond the 50th latitude of south.

One with an AI that needed a crew so it could pass itself off as a non-AI ship. Having survived their first adventure in space, they now had a new, larger, and much faster ship. Returning to Earth should have been the easy part. They also had a wedding to plan. Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned. The aliens tested humans on an individual basis for miner rentals. Do well on your pilot test, get a spaceship, sign up with a corp, and you can mine the belt. For a puddle-jumper pilot like me, yeah, I was so interested I became obsessed. When I finally tested, I performed above and beyond, being offered a contract for some better than a miner - Earth's First Starfighter.

Virtual voice is lacking
No matter how good the story Virtual Voice puts me to sleep every time. it's a single voice for all charaters. Until it can diferentiate between characters it's not worth a credit.

Story is good but virtual voice is difficult to ignore.
I think the story line was fun, but the virtual voice was hard to look past. With no emotion in the voice it’s hard to build any connection with the characters. The story also changes POV which makes the reader need to decipher which view is currently being read. I feel like the romance came out of nowhere and seemed kind of forced, again that could have been the virtual voice issue… Not worth a credit but if free I would recommend.
