 John, a notorious gay street cruiser, suspended his cruising adventures for several years while he partnered with Jose. After their relationship ended, he eventually returned to the streets. He has found the life of a man who street cruises for adventures to be much more challenging now than he previously had. He was a compulsive street cruiser from his early 20s until his mid-30s, which was when he partnered with Jose. Now, as he returns to the streets, he is in his 40s. Beyond the age difference, the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic had a negative effect on his ability to successfully cruise since fewer men had been looking for active partners due to the potential spread of the disease. Fortunately, the negative impact of the Coronavirus quickly became much less of a concern as time passed. Cruising for desirable and willing men is the life John has known well and done well. It is the life he desires and enjoys once again. The storied adventures in this novel reveal the trials, errors, and many successes of John's return to the streets in search of men. Though "Still Cruising" is a stand-alone book, it logically follows "Cruising Little Village in Chicago," which is also a stand-alone book.
