About this listen

When the gods realize the beast they unleashed should never have been unshackled, they throw together modern-day Emma and ancient Torin to set the world aright. Now the mismatched pair must fully embrace their powers, meld them, and send the demon back to his hell.

But what Emma and Torin don't realize is there's a troubling side-effect to melding magic. Hearts tend to get tangled, too, even when the two souls aren't comfortable in each other's worlds.

This is a new release of a previously published edition.

Narrator Voice

The voice of the narrator is too harsh to portray the voice of a woman. She is a string female character in a man’s works who is somewhat bitter and scared due to all of het losses. The narrator’s voice of Emma makes her seem angry, sarcastic, and hateful. She is not a very likable character as portrayed by the voice. Laney seems whimsy and whiny. The narrator does very well with the men’s voices. The background narration, without voices,is Ok

Great story, great narration

Maeve Greyson wrote a compelling tale and Curt Bonnem did a fantastic job narrating. I enjoyed all the characters and storyline, and the humor woven in. There are comical descriptions of what it might be like to come from a millennium ago and freshly experience the 21st century - this aspect of the book was special and fun. The strong female characters are also appreciated, and the way Curt Bonnem portrayed them made them even more vibrant. Can Emma and Torin's love survive when they come from different worlds? Will they defeat evil? Listen and you will find out...

I am now a fan of Maeve Greyson and Curt Bonnem.

I received a promotional copy of this book and this is my honest review.
