About this listen
Jeremiah Tucker grew up believing that there was more gold out there somewhere—there just had to be. Born too late for the gold rush, Jeremiah had always been able to make a meager living from prospecting, but never stopped thinking that just maybe one day he might strike it rich. That luck might change after he meets a mysterious old man in a tired, western boomtown. When Jeremiah heads out on the trail to find gold, he discovers more than he bargained for.
“Bad things can happen when you get between a man and his gold.”
Jeremiah Tucker finds that surviving in the lawless American West of the 1800s is not as easy as it used to be. Together with his friend, Skeeter, they discover that trouble is right on their heels. One day, Jeremiah might be able to enjoy his gold—but that is only if he lives long enough.
Jeremiah's friend, Skeeter soon makes a discovery that that could cause every history book in North America to be rewritten. There could be more gold at the end of this journey, but Jeremiah is not convinced. Sometimes the treasure you discover is not the same as the one you set out to find.
This series is written in the tradition of the classic American western cliffhangers. The story is set in Utah at the close of the Indian wars; giving us a glimpse into the uncomfortable and perilous relationships that existed between Americans and American Indians at the time. It is a story that deals with true friendship and trust; camaraderie and corruption in a lawless American west.
