About this listen

Monday mornings are hell. That's what Carolyn Sullivan is thinking as she arrives at her office at the Ventura County Probation Department. One of her probationers has just been arrested for rape. Just when Carolyn should be lying low, instead she's assigned a sensitive case that's sure to have everyone breathing down her neck - supervising convicted killer and paranoid schizophrenic Daniel Metroix.

Twenty-three years ago, the son of the police chief was pushed into the path of an oncoming car, and Metroix went to prison for the boy's murder. Everything in Metroix's file indicates that he's unpredictable and dangerous. But what's more unsettling is his claim that he's innocent - a claim that crawls under Carolyn's skin and stays there, especially when a routine meeting erupts into an inferno that nearly kills them both. Protecting him is Carolyn's only chance to defend herself and her family - and to right a wrong that may have sent an innocent man to prison, while letting a killer go free.

Critic reviews

"A gutsy heroine, a fast-moving plot, an insider's look at the justice system - Sullivan's Law is everything a legal thriller fan could hope for. As always, Nancy Taylor Rosenberg delivers the goods. This will be another best seller." ( Nelson DeMille)

Story was interesting enough, but this author has produced much better work. Too many unlikely situations and coincidences. Did not care for the narrator AT ALL. Slow, stilted rhythm which made the reading sound like a grade school production. Tried adjusting the playback speed on my iPod, but speeding it up did not make it any easier to listen to. I finished the book, but never really bonded with any of the characters or their situations and didn't particularly care how the story concluded.

Not the author's best.

Lame story plus terrible narration. I expected better from the good reviews. First and last time with this author.
