About this listen

A lakeside summer, a new beginning....

Samantha Fremont has been struggling with the weight of her mother’s expectations for years. But now that her mother has passed away, it’s time for Sam to be bold and finally establish the fashion design business she’s always dreamed of. And the perfect opportunity has fallen into her lap. Her friend’s getting married and has asked Sam to create her wedding dress...if only she can avoid the bride’s infuriating brother, who’s temporarily the boy next door.

Ian Summerhill knows a sabbatical in Haven Point is exactly what he and his children need to recover from their mother’s death. His romantic relationship with his ex-wife may have ended years ago, but caring for her throughout her illness broke his heart. All he wants is to watch his little sister walk down the aisle and to see his kids smile again. And somehow his lovely new neighbor is instrumental in both. But as their uneasy truce blossoms into a genuine friendship and more, Ian has obligations in England he can’t ignore - and a secret that threatens the fragile trust he and Sam have built.

Summer at Lake Haven

Samantha Freemont kissed Ian Summerfield out on the dock under the moonlight. His wife that passed away loved being married to Sunsay as he was the heir to Amhurst. Ian said, I'm sure your mother loved you more than words. Ian said, my feelings such as they are, I'm not going to act on them. Please forgive me for say this but Susan and Samantha are very different. The point is, you have feelings for her. Yes, he loved Samantha. His parents new well that he did not want to be an heir. You were married to Susan for 5 years and I never once saw you look at Samantha with such loving eyes and your heart. Susan wasn't really your choice. She was pregnant with Amelia. I tried to take care of Susan. Susan loved going shopping or to charity events since she was married to the heir of Amhurst. Ian said, how can I, it's impossible. Susan was a very loving mother. When you look at Samantha, she is your sun, moon and the stars in the sky. Ian said, I am tied to Summerhill. Oh son, for your information, I've talked to Samantha about coming to London and Paris. When she is looking at you, her heart flutters and color seeps on her cheeks. I've talked to Samantha about moving into a new market. Margaret said, you're my son and I love your , but if you have feelings for Samantha and do nothing about them, that would be a grave unforgiveness. He didn't want to make a life with Samantha. It was a mess when Ian would walk away next week. The wedding for Gemma ad Josh was perfect and they were both perfect for each other. She wanted to dance with Ian, she wanted to remember this for all the rest of her life. Ian said, wow, you're right, this is beautiful. Samantha said, I don't want to go back. I wish we could stay here all night. Samantha said, I will miss you and the puppies, Amelia, Thomas and you. She started crying a little. Ian said, I'm going to make a mess of your makeup, I'm afraid. Oh Ian, you must know I do love you. I tried not to, but I love you. Maybe its not the first time we met, but the second time we met I fell in love with you. She gazed at him. Tell that to my poor salmon. Again and again until I get you to spend the rest of your life with me. Ian said he loved her also. I should make probably make it clear, I'm a poor bargain. I get distracted by the oddest things. Unlike Gemma, I don't know how you would give that up. If you decided you want to consider a future with me. Ian said, it's too much to ask of you. What about my shop? You want me to move to England with you? Leaving Haven Point would be the worst for me. A life with you and Thomas and Amelia and you. Samantha got married at Lake Haven. One year later, Samantha had Henry walk her down the aisle. It was the hardest dress she ever made. She wanted to think it was unmistakingly beautiful. She looked toward the pew where her mother and they both set. The chapel was full with all their family. She loved them all. Looking every bit to her handsome prince. She finally sold Fremont Fashions to her worthy assistant Rachel Munez. After moving to England, when wanted to marry the man she loved. I loved this story so much, it is a life about heart, loss and happiness.

Perfect love story!

This is my kind of delicious, happy story! I’ve enjoyed reading it immensely. I’m very grateful to find authors that understand the difference between true romance and sexual explicitness. This was true romance!

Beginning to all seem the same

I have really enjoyed the author, and the string of characters. frankly that's the only reason I'm still reading the books. every story is basically the same. they meet, they're attracted, there's a history or a misunderstandng.... but ultimately the characters fall madly in love within 2 weeks of meeting each other. EVERY STORY. real life isn't quite like that. typically the people who connect THAT FAST don't make it, because there's nothing real outside of last. us really like to see one of her stories span a little bit of time, maybe some distance. maybe some REAL WORLD type concerns that are complicated.

Narration Did Not Work for me

A typical sweet romance. However the “British” accent - ouch. And every time I heard Viscount pronounced it totally made me cringe.
