About this listen

Dyson Vix. The bad boy of Formula One racing. The ultimate playboy. There isn't a hairpin turn he can't handle or a woman he can't have. Dyson lives life like he drives - hard, determined, and like it might be his last day.

The first time I met him, he was completely naked, and he couldn't have cared less. The second time I saw Dyson, he just stood there staring at me. His fire suit hung low on his waist, and his body was dripping in sweat, grease, and...well, you get the idea.

We couldn't have been more different. After a family tragedy, I've been left to raise my nephew, Simon, all alone. Raising him has given me more joy than I could've imagined, but it comes at a price. He is my entire world, and everything I do is with him in mind. I haven't had a date in months, instead focusing solely on him. Man troubles are the last thing we need, especially the kind reckless thrill seeker Dyson Vix would bring.

But fate has other ideas.

I've been thrust into his fast-paced world, and the more time I spend with him - the more I see of the troubled man behind the roguish charm - the more my resolve crumbles. Our chemistry is undeniable but isn't without risk. Jealousy and threats to my home life mean I could lose everything I've worked so hard to protect.

The stakes have never been higher.

Will we make it, or are we destined to crash and burn?

HE WAS COCKY ASS BUT HE WON THE RACE & THE GIRL

Ava is a Nurse/Dr.'s Assistant and she, together with her best friend, have been lovingly looking after her 7 yr old Nephew Simon for years - ever since her Sister tragically died and Simon's worthless no good Dad never wanted him in the first place so Ava's sacrificed and taken on so much. Ava's happily about to take samples from the Doctor's next Patient..... Formula 1's top Racing Driver Dyson Vix who's having a physical and when she opens the door and sees the sexiest bare ass she's ever seen, together with a panty melting grin that take her breath away, Ava is instantly attracted to him.

Yes, he's drop dead gorgeous, sexy and full of charm... but, as soon as he speaks, it's obvious he knows just how he affects the ladies and, to make matters worse, there are a couple of beautiful Russian bimbos hissing and glaring possessively at her. Unfortunately though, when he smoothly, confidently and openly flirts with Ava, she's instantly put off by his over confident Playboy attitude. The Doctor arrives and asks Dyson to take his gown off which he happily and confidently complies with showing off the most perfect and 'well endowed' male body Ava has ever seen.... and voila her attraction's suddenly back. But, when the tests are all completed and Dyson and the bimbos stay in the room to have sex.... Ava is again disgusted at his actions.

Their whole relationship is pretty much like that... Ava's very attracted to the arrogant jerk but she doesn't want to want him and every time Dyson opens his mouth and smoothly tries to seduce and charm her, Ava is reminded just why she dislikes him so intensely and daren't risk everything by taking him seriously. However, when Cupid and Fate team up to throw a spanner in Ava's life's plan, she is financially persuaded to travel and work closely with Dyson and the rest of the racing team for months. Slowly she sees beneath his facade to the good, kind and thoughtful man underneath.... but every day his mood is different and he's dangerously pushing himself further and further into an early grave by his recklessness and speed on the track.... and nobody can stop him.

So, just that easily, sexy Racing Drivers have now been added to my very varied and ever growing list of Fantasy Lovers. Yes, he was a scumbag at the start, but over time he did undergo some character growth, stopped playing around and won Ava's heart. But unfortunately, the clashing of hot tempers coupled with Dyson's recklessness and stubbornness finally snapped Ava's stretched patience, logic, understanding..... and the bond they'd tentatively forged.

An entertaining, enjoyable and addictive introduction into the Fastlane series - it had a bit of romance, a bit of sex, angst, drama, likeable secondary characters and a strong H/H that are just perfect for each other if only they could both see it. Ava had her share of problems.... there was an attempt at blackmail that ended badly, Simon's School was raising Ava's stress levels to the max and thoughts of the possibility of each of them fitting into one another's worlds were freaking her out. But Dylan had wanted her from the start and carefully steered her into his waiting and willing arms.... however he wasn't prepared for commitment. Dual POV's (but mainly Ava's) and a good narrator.

Worth a credit? Yes, it was a fairly good Contemporary listen with a push/pull relationship that didn't leave a lot of time for romance, tender moments, sweet talk or passionate touches. 90% of the time Dyson was an arrogant moody ass to Ava (if he wasn't trying to sweet talk her into bed) and they often cold shouldered each other... but somehow it still worked for me and thankfully it ended with a HEA conclusion. Be prepared for Dyson - you're either going to love or hate him and you'll think Ava's all kinds of stupid for putting up with him or a very very lucky woman!!

Great New Series

Loved the story, the reading was a little choppy but overall great story. I think they should have male and female Narrators but the narrator did a good enough job. worth the credit.

Struggled with the narration

I'm having a hard time finishing this one because of the narrator. Her reading is a bit over dramatic and sounds overly done. I enjoyed the story but her false emotions (especially with any dialogue) drove me a little insane.
I think this book in particular is one that would have benefited from have a male and a female do the narration as the male perspective is so prominent.

Cheesy and hard to finish....

Although there were some good parts to the book it was cheesy and unrealistic. Narration was mediocre at best and she gave off false feelings of emotion. In my option, this book was not worth the money.

I don’t have time for Petty Drama

I really like sports romances, it’s my favorite romance genre. This one started out good, however the drama made me DNF.

The female and male main characters, Ava and Dyson, were good. I liked them a lot. I even enjoyed Dysons name, which some readers may want to roll their eyes at.

I just don’t like petty drama for the sake of plot. Like the two girls Dyson was having flings with. They were catty and awful and honestly I really hate when authors make the other women awful to justify hatred for those characters. Like please, women tearing other women down is the absolute worst and a awful plot choose.

And also when Ava’s nephew Simons absent sperm donor comes in, is where I had it. No more. Thanks but no thanks, for that plot line.

I typically like sports romances, but unless you want unnecessary drama, I recommend not reading this.

Struggling with finishing

The story didn't pull me in. It lacked interactions between all of the characters and focused on the inter thoughts the character was having.
