Publisher's summary

Get ready to laugh! Get ready to tap your toes! Get ready to take a fresh look at what it means to “love your neighbor” and to “turn the other cheek” (not that one, you nitwit!). Set in ancient Jerusalem, SYMPHONY OF LIFE mostly tells the story of Joel, a corrupt tax collector who’s in desperate need of a swift kick in the pants. But there’s also a cadre of irate marketplace vendors all vying to be the one to deliver the humbling blow; a spunky, young widow who wishes she had more than two pitiful mites to cast into the offering box at the temple treasury; a pair of star-crossed lovers; a perfectly poisonous person masquerading as a beautiful maiden; a murder of featherless crows (huh?); a constipated mule; and a Samaritan who is…well, good.

~Fans of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT and the television series, THE CHOSEN, will savor the timely Christian messages, along with fifteen unforgettable, new songs—from silly to spiritual—performed by Broadway-worthy musicians and woven throughout the narrative of this biblical-inspired story. Prepare to be entertained and uplifted—and to gain a deeper love for JESUS! —as the characters’ lives intertwine in unexpected ways, and Joel comes to understand who his neighbors truly are. ~Will the taxman have a change of heart or get what deserves? He definitely has it coming!

A Fresh Take on Classic Parables

Where to begin? I loved this fresh take on classic parables from the Bible. So familiar, yet so new. The music caught me by surprise as this was definitely a twist from the typical audiobook. Yet how inspiring! The melodies and harmonies evoke emotion that could be missed with mere words. Thank you, Suzette, for this audio experience that truly makes me want to be better, to do better, and to become more like Jesus.

Deliciously fun and inspiring

Wow! A musical turned into a book. What a cool concept! The author cleverly weaves together several stories and parables from the new testament into a plot about a villainous tax collector who has a rude awakening when he comes into contact with the Samaritan and the poor Widow of the Widow's Mite fame. All the characters are well-drawn and their banter is funny. Broadway-worthy songs pop up seamlessly in the narrative, enhancing the story. Some are funny, others stir emotion, but all are first class--definitely more than I was expecting.

The timely messages of loving your neighbor, forgiveness, and grace were skillfully and thoughtfully executed. The narrator was fantastic, delivering distinguishable voices for each character. I didn't want to stop listening. I didn't want it to end. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Buy it! I promise you won't be disappointed. I am going to purchase a hardcopy for my family library too. The world needs more uplifting content like this.

Part Book Part Musical

Symphony of Life is more than just a book—it's an experience. I found this story incredibly uplifting, with themes that resonate deeply about love, hope, and finding one's purpose. I loved the blending of writing with music. it was a unique way to experience the story. Each chapter is paired with its own musical piece, making you feel every emotion along the way. It’s like a sermon and a concert rolled into one. If you're looking for something that entertains and inspires, Symphony of Life is a beautiful reminder of how God works through all aspects of our lives, including music.

My 12 year old daughter listened to it with me and also loved it.
