About this listen
The wife of the American ambassador has been murdered and her body posed in a hotel room in a grotesque sexual display.
The FBI says terrorists are responsible, but the whispers on the street tell a different story. The whispers say that a serial killer is stalking prominent American women in Asia, and that the ambassador's wife won't be the only victim.
Tay's bosses don't like the idea of putting such a high-profile case in his hands, but botching the investigation would mean an international black eye for Singapore and Tay is the best they've got.
The Americans don't want Tay involved either. They want him to leave the case to them, but he's not going to do that. It's a Singapore murder, and finding killers in Singapore is what he does. Besides, the Americans don't appear to him to be all that interested in solving anything.
Don't they want me to find the woman's killer? Tay wonders.
Or am I the only one here who doesn't already know who it is?
