About this listen
In the New Testament alone, the personal mentions of Jesus are astounding. If one were to count, we would find that out of 7,957 verses, His name or His deeds are spoken of nearly 10,000 times. This number speaks volumes, for it stands as a testament to His significance, His centrality to our faith.
Let's cast our minds back to the early church. The apostles and disciples, filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly preached the Good News. Yet, there was one name, one topic, that the religious leaders of the time forbade them to speak - the Name of Jesus! This, in itself, highlights the power and influence that the name of Jesus held then, as it continues to hold now.
Our journey, as believers, culminates in a profound truth - to become more like Jesus Christ. As Paul wrote to the Romans in Romans 8:29, "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." This, dear reader, is our ultimate aspiration.
The apostle Paul, in Ephesians 1:23, paints a beautiful picture of Christ's significance to us, saying, "Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all." Christ fills us completely; He is our All in All. And it is this profound love, this complete filling, that we must yearn for, that we must seek with all our hearts.
As we venture forth in these pages, I invite you to journey with me. Let's explore the scriptures, illuminate the countless times Jesus is spoken of, and let this understanding ignite a spark within us. May this spark explode into a fervent love for Jesus Christ. For it is this love that transforms us, that makes us more like Him, that truly makes Jesus our All in All.
