 On July 6, 1947, a bolt of lightning strikes the hull of a silver alien spacecraft as it attempts to leave the earth. The wire connector in the navigation console has melted and the ship begins its rapid descent towards open rangeland in New Mexico. The ship is abruptly cracked open on impact and the blue alien leader has been fatally ejected. The surviving alien crew search for a place to hide in the arid lands and soon find a home at the bottom of a bottomless lake.
Now 70 years later, the blue aliens are awakened by a noisy speedboat engine, so they go to the surface to quell it. Law enforcement does not know what has been drowning swimmers until a blue alien is spotted. The U.S. Navy is called in to clean the lake of these extraterrestrials, but a strange battle erupts. The aliens see humans as a food source. The navy captain in charge needs to find a better way to exterminate these blue water devils.
Sheriff Sean Matson stops by the lake region to visit with his deputy niece as he travels to his new home in northern New Mexico. He somehow gets a hold of the key to the alien’s survival.
