Story
There was an uneasy tension as the slave owners sought to maintain control and keep the slaves working calmly and the abolitionists began to question the moral cost of slavery. As they prepared to compile a special Bible for slaves in the West Indies, the missionaries agreed to uplift the Africans without teaching them anything that could incite rebellion. The Slave Bible is one of the most powerful examples ever witnessed of manipulation using a controlled narrative.

Story
The King James Version of the Bible, with its flowing language and rhythmic prose, has had a profound influence on the literature of the past 400 years and is the greatest English translation ever produced. Early in the 19th century, however, the British and Foreign Bible Society decided to exclude the 14 books known as 'The Apocrypha'. Today, English Bibles with the Apocrypha are becoming more popular again. Now for the first time, the original unexpurgated version of the King James Bible - complete with all of the Apocrypha - is available as an audiobook

Story
The title of this book is How We Became Black Hebrew Israelites; however, we did not “become” Black Hebrew Israelites. We are considered “Black” by the label that has been placed upon us over the years, and we are Hebrew Israelites, according to our Biblical lineage. The Bible is the history and law book of the Hebrews and Israelites. When we read scriptures about slavery and curses in the past, present, and future, it is easy to determine who the physical Israelites are in the world today. There has been much controversy surrounding the term “Black Hebrew Israelites” lately. ...

Story
In this iconoclastic and provocative work, leading scholars Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman draw on recent archaeological research to present a dramatically revised portrait of ancient Israel and its neighbors. They argue that crucial evidence (or a telling lack of evidence) at digs in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon suggests that many of the most famous stories in the Bible - the wanderings of the patriarchs, the Exodus from Egypt, Joshua’s conquest of Canaan, and David and Solomon’s vast empire - reflect the world of the later authors.

Story
The Mis-Education of the Negro by Carter Godwin Woodson (1933), addresses important economic and social issues that were faced by African Americans. Woodson criticises education in American schools and the emphasis on the history of the Greeks, Romans, and British. He explores the legacy of slavery and the economic situation of Blacks in the time of depression. In each chapter, he considers the results of miseducation on the church, business, politics, and leadership.

Story
The official editions of the King James contained the books of the Apocrypha until 1796. Most printers did not clear inventories and change to the 66-book version we know today until the mid 1800's. Ethymologically, the word "apocrypha" means "things that are hidden", but why they were hidden is not clear. Listen to find out more!

Story
This cultural biography tells the enthralling story of the high-achieving Black elites who thrived in the nation's capital during Reconstruction. Daniel Murray (1851-1925), an assistant librarian at the Library of Congress, was a prominent member of this glorious class. Murray's life was reflective of those who were well-off at the time. This social circle included African American educators, ministers, lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, US senators and representatives, and other government officials.

Story
America’s backstory is a whitewashed mythology implanted in our collective memory. It should come as no surprise that the dominant narrative of American history is blighted with errors and oversights—after all, history books were written by white men with their perspectives at the forefront. It could even be said that the devaluation and erasure of the Black experience is as American as apple pie. In Black AF History, Michael Harriot presents a more accurate version of American history.

Outstanding research
Absolutely outstanding work. There was a lot of research into the scriptures and this book tacked the things that people are afraid to say. He brought out the truth with overwhelming evidence that cannot be refuted. I recommend this book for every believer to read.

I really appreciated the message of the book, and especially the comments of the revised version -- that the message isn't anti-anyone; it is to educate and uplift. I look forward to (and already have!) sharing this message with my friends and family!
