About this listen

A collection of the best Jets stories - updated to include tales of the Jets' recent success.

In Tales from the New York Jets Sideline, author Mark Cannizzaro takes listeners on a journey, through his eyes and the eyes of the subjects he has covered, through musings, controversial happenstances, and occasional brilliance the Jets have displayed. During the years Cannizzaro has followed the franchise, up to their consecutive AFC Championship Game losses in 2009 and 2010, the Jets have careened through life alternating between bumbling and embarrassing, maddening and entertaining, and utterly brilliant.

Editorial reviews

James Parker's refreshing baritone takes listeners through vignettes about the New York Jets, striking the perfect balance between enthusiasm and wryness. Since 1993, the Jets have had a varied history crammed with moments of embarrassment and mediocrity - but also brilliance. This audiobook contains the highs and the lows of the Jets' past from the point of view of Mark Cannizzaro and team insiders, including such revealing events as the impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the team. Listeners will appreciate Parker's versatility as he brings these stories to life with a variety of moods.

I am a huge Jet fan. I read/listen to a lot of books on them. This book was disappointing. The stories were ok...superficial...I hoped for more insight and behind the scenes accounts of the Jets. Still it was interesting. The reading though is awful. Legendary coach Weeb Ewbank's first name is pronounced "Web" here. Rex Ryan apparently came to the Jets after being Defensive Coordinator of the "Buffalo Ravens." The Cleveland Browns are described as the "lonely Cleveland Browns" instead of the "lowly Cleveland Browns." Jeff Lageman is "Jeff Legman" here. It goes on and on.
