    guilty!

i like this genre. a little dated, a little stilted, but now and then there is a real gem and, if you are drawn to this style, it is worth the listen.

    Please God, make it stop!!

What did you like best about this story?

    The stories were great.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The performance was beyond dreadful. There actually were several different narrators, and it would not be fait to diss them all. One of them had several stories assigned to him and his voice was like nails on a chalk board. The rhythm of his voice was bizarre -- he cant possibly actually speak like that, nor surely does he think that the authors intended their work to sound like that. It was AWFUL.

    Any additional comments?

    Great Stories, Terrible Production

    Any additional comments?

Need to correct the production problems in the sound quality and this would be a great audio product.

Great stories but the narration... not so much

    Any additional comments?

The narration is uneven and changes in quality and possibly even narrator though out. Often it sounds as if the narrators started the project in a studio but then got tired and phoned the rest in. Sound quality goes from decent to horrible in mid story in a few places. The stories are good. I wish someone thought as much of them as I did and provided a decent quality project.

    good stories bad narration

the narration of these classic stories is very spotty, some are very good but a good many are horrible. stumbling over words, flat monotone deliveries a speak and spell could do better than some of the readers.

    Great Collection

i enjoyed most of the stories in this collection but a few stories in the middle the audio spikes up and down making it extremely irritating to listen to, i dont know how you guys allow simply garbage audio files get to your customers when anyone with a headset could record better quailty audio files for free. I tried the regular and high quality files and listening to it in the browser player its all the same bad recording...

    Not unlistenable but very unprofessional.

If you can take the accent

If you could sum up Tales of the Occult in three words, what would they be?

    Like Lovecraft?

What did you like best about this story?

As a Lovecraft fan it is easy to slip into these stories.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Sound less like a London Public School Boy.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The stories are good but the narrator is just too posh to handle. It made me feel like I was sitting in Regents Park eavesdropping on two old friends talking.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend listing to a preview of it before buying; if you like the narrator go for it!

    Great Selection

Great selection of tales. Some readers better than others but, overall, very creepy.
