Publisher's summary

Splat.

That’s the sound Hali Waverly made when she hit the pavement after a drunken billionaire ran her over with his golf cart.

Cha-ching.

That’s the sound her bank account made when his handlers got him under control and swooped in to buy Hali off. The offer? Ownership of a tiki bar on the property of a busy resort and lodging in one of the villas on St. Pete Beach.

Now Hali is officially successful. That doesn’t mean her life is a beach of roses.

When private investigator Grayson “Gray” Hunter shows up asking questions about a missing woman, Hali is evasive. It’s not because she doesn’t want to help as much as she’s already running her own investigation with the help of her best friend, another witch, and a group of sirens who control the beach.

Gray and Hali lock horns as they continuously cross paths with one another, to the point where they agree to join forces…but only temporarily.

Evil is stalking the resort. Young women are going missing at every turn. It’s going to take a mixture of magic and might to save the day…and even that might not be enough.

St. Petersburg has a new crime-fighting team. Are they strong enough to survive the rising tide and take down a monster?

You’re about to find out.

loved it!!

i bought this book ages ago but didn’t listen until i had all 5 in the series. to think i could’ve been enjoying Hali, Gray and everyone all this time! i won’t do that again! this was a lot of fun and i laughed out loud so many times! Wayne is just too much!=)
i can relate to Hali’s chronic pain as well, and the desire not to be seen as weak. i mean, being a witch couldn’t hurt tho!;)
thanx LLH and AC! great work!!

Another Great Book From Lilly!

I just love anything Lily Harper Hart writes. This new series is no exception. I can't say much with out giving out spoilers, but if you are looking for a cozy mystery that will make you laugh out loud this is the book for you. I love the new MC and her love interest. I look forward to many more books in the series.

Worst narration ever!!

The writing isn't good. The opening scene is dreadfull. The main character is obnoxious! Some of the side characters are mildly interesting. The narration is truly the worst I have ever heard, and that's really saying alot!

Terrible Narrator, Even Worse Female Lead

Angel Clark shouldn’t be a narrator, her voice makes an already annoying female lead even worse. Hali is well meaning and clearly cares about people, but she’s irritating. She’s rude to a lot of people without cause, she jumps to incorrect conclusions constantly, she refuses help and is fussy for no reason. In short, if you like a grating voice and a whiny witch this is the book for you.

Awful narration

Voice was grating and trying too hard to add “character” to the voices. Just like writing with way too many exclamation points. Hard to find volume to hear everything but not be in pain from the voice. Don’t act it out. Joy of reading and listening is hearing the words and engaging my imagination. Suspense and excitement can be portrayed with pacing. No need to give everyone a horrible accent.
