About this listen

Tough-as-nails Kenzie King has finally earned her place as a tactical medic on a SWAT team. But not everyone on the all-male team accepts her. Rumor is, she didn't get the position because of what she could do but because of who she knew. Which means she has to work harder and longer than anyone else to prove herself.

Cole Garrison is a man with deep faith who is finally ready to settle down and build a family of his own—if he can find the right person, that is. Kenzie sure has set off his interest meter, but trouble seems to follow in her wake. Since she joined the team, someone has begun to ambush and pick off team members, one by one.

It's all hands on deck to discover the culprit and end the killing. Can Kenzie and Cole put aside their differences and work together as a team? Or will their budding attraction be snuffed out by a sniper's bullet?

As you've come to expect from bestselling author Lynette Eason's stories, this tightly wound plot unfurls at breakneck speed and will leave you breathless.

Great story! It shows that bitterness and resentment are poison to the soul. The characters are likable except the ones we aren’t meant to like. It wasn’t predictable. This is book 2 but stands alone as well. I look forward to the next book in the series. If Lynette Eason’s name is on a book I automatically buy it.

Amazing story, well narrated. I love the way the voices moved the story forward! I’ll look for more by these artists!

I liked exploring the past and the present. I did figure out the bad guy before it was revealed, but it was okay.

It was a good who done it.

Ms. Eason did it again. A really good story with interesting characters. the narrator did well even though it was hard to distinguish voices sometimes. Overall, I hope this is the first of a series. Some of the secondary characters seemed like they might have a story worth telling.

Plenty of Layers!

I liked the strong characters & the camaraderie the SWAT group shared.
The journal to the past and then how decisions affect the present.

I like that the good guys always win. I like the team working together. Only ok on the narration.

Although I love this author and every book I've read of hers (most pf them) this one was still enjoyable but a little hard to follow. Lots of family tree history and flashing back and forth that added more confusion than interest for me personally.  I also felt the end was a little abrupt or rushed from the final crime solving to rescue of both characters to feelings between main characters that all came to  quick and easy resolution. FMC's feelings and thoughts were clear and well documented but I didn't feel the same with MMC. He was a little all over the place in his seemingly slight attraction, then withdrawal due fear of commitment stemming from past relationship trauma to all of a sudden being in love at the very end. I didn't read anything that explored the progression of his thoughts or feelings developing towards FMC. There was no discussion as to how they were to handle the work dynamics while being in a relationship.

Good story

I was a little confused with the story about the mental institution but how the thread blended into the modern day love story was genius. I absolutely love the blanket of Christianity throughout the story. Add a working dog and thus the greatest story. Thank you

Excellent story combining 3 generations of drama
