Publisher's summary

USA Today Best-selling Author Julie Miller's The Precinct: Task Force Series Heats Up When a Plain Jane and an Experienced Cop Pose as an Engaged Couple.

Something about Hope Lockhart fascinated Officer Pike Taylor. The cop and his canine companion had been patrolling the neighborhood around Hope's bridal shop for months, trying to capture the criminal who targeted her. Was it the way she hid her voluptuous beauty beneath a plain Jane exterior?

Hope bore the scars of a troubling past. And despite a profession steeped in romance, she'd never known the love of a man. But when Pike is assigned to protect her by posing as her live-in fiancé, his tenderness may give Hope the courage to open her heart for the very first time.

Great sweet romance.

Enjoyed the book and the narrator. The narrator has a sweet peaceful voice which matches the heroine who is a shy virgin who has been abused. It doesn't get much better than the hero in this book. Will continue with the author and narrator.

An over 30 woman with a painful past falls in love

When an over 30 woman with a painful past falls in love with a policeman and in like with his dog/partner and the trio catch a murdering rapist there must be a happy ending.

Monotoned Narrator

What would have made Task Force Bride better?

A different narrator would have helped tremendously. Perhaps I would have been engaged enough to care about the fate of these people and finish the book.

Would you recommend Task Force Bride to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe the print version.

How could the performance have been better?

I kept nodding off and/or turning out what was being said due to the lifeless performance.

Any additional comments?

I listened to the audio sample, which sounded good to purchase the book. I had know way of knowing I'd be bored into a trance after 4 hours. I think Audible should expand the audio book samples to include dialogue of both the lead characters so we get a better feel of what the voices sound like.
