Wow. This book is so easy to love. Sprinkled with history, facts, feelings, and information that makes it easy to digest for 4~8 year olds without it feeling washed down or too complex. It really highlights how important Juneteenth is for the community and how people oriented the holiday is. It brings those together and allows space for people and ancestors. Gorgeously written, it makes you feel like you’re in the book learning and listening to everyone tell their story. More than engaging enough to be worth the money. Will be buying a physical copy as well! Wow! Never too early to teach children history.
