The author did an excellent job of character development. The story caught me right from the beginning. The narrator did a great job distinguishing the different characters.

Great story

I really enjoyed this book, but the ending felt unfinished; issues or questions were left unresolved and unanswered. I personally would have loved a completed ending.

it was good

Where does Tempest Rising rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Second in fiction books, only "The Help" was better.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The daughters, Shern, Victoria, and Bliss. These characters were well-developed and kept me interested in the story.

Have you listened to any of Susan Spain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Any additional comments?

The reading was very good. The only improvement was to have more variety in the voices.

Tumbling, also by Dianne McKinney Whetstone.

I have not. She makes you care about the characters you're hearing about.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. But I did thoroughly enjoy it.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was worth one listen, but I doubt that I'll listen to this story again.

Has Tempest Rising turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

Any additional comments?

I didn't expect a lot of drama, but this story kind of just went on and on with no real climax. I kept waiting for the big moment, and by the time I realized the climax had taken place, the book was over. I think the author put too much into the build-up, and left a lot missing from the ending. This was not a favorite, but... I liked the characters. That kept me interested.

Just Ok

There is an age group that this author appeals to but I was so very bored and the wordiness. Awful. Also too drawn out.

Nauseating and Sappy I think
