About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Elizabeth Chadwick comes another long-awaited novel about William Marshall, the Greatest Knight.

To save his soul, young knight William Marshall takes the perilous road to Jerusalem, but the greatest danger he faces there is losing his heart.

William Marshal, England's greatest knight, begins a pilgrimage to the Holy Land with his brother, Ancel - a perilous journey that will have lasting impact for the rest of his life. William and Ancel become embroiled in the deadly politics of Jerusalem, devious scheming and lusts of the powerful men and women who rule the kingdom. Becoming entangled with the dangerous, mercurial Pascia de Riveri, concubine of the highest churchman in the land, William treads a path so dangerous that there seems no way back for him, or Ancel. Both will pay a terrible price, and their only chance to see home again will depend upon the Templars and two silk shrouds.

Another amazing tale about William Marshall

Elizabeth Chadwick is clearly one of the most talented writers in today’s historical romance genre. Everyone of her books about the life of William Marshall, combines excitement romance within the context of historical accuracy. Miss Chadwick obviously does a tremendous amount of historical research to make sure her stories are accurate and are placed foremost in the telling of these exciting tales. I highly recommend the Templar Silks to any reader of historical fiction. If you ever travel to London, you should visit the Templar church where William Marshall is buried. It is a moving tribute to him that his tomb was carefully repaired after it was hit during the world war two blitz.

Love this series

I have loved all of this author's books and especially the books on William Marshal one of my most favorite historical characters thanks to Elizabeth Chadwick. I was very glad to see that there was a new one about his journey to Jerusalem.

Do. I recommend reading this book, absolutely, every story written by Elizabeth allows you to travel in your mind and share the lives of those that went before, real and not real.

Definitely the greatest knight

I love reading about William Marshall. Narration is excellent and the story interesting. In doing my genealogy I found William Marshall was my 23rd great grandfather.

Two years before I knew who he was I visited the Templars round church in London. I took pictures of some of the stone effigies and one has the name William Marshall on it. Since I did not know it might be important I did not get a really good picture and I later learned that his son of the same name was also a Templar.

It is a shame that his sons did not have children to carry the name forward. I descend through one of his daughters.

People should know about WM because he was truly a great knight. We know of the likely fictional King Arthur and his knights but I never learned anything from history about this real man.

Well done, MS. Chadwick.

If you are a fan of Elizabeth Chadwick, Templar Silks is a jewel amongst her other historical novels about the 12th century knight, William The Marshall. Definitely one for your ears if you love historical fiction . The narration is spot on. Mr. Keeble lends his rich and varied vocal talents to bring all of the characters to life in a natural, compelling manner. Key point, even the women sound good.... sometimes that isn't always the case with gentlemen narrators. Happy listening!

Interesting time in History

I had just finished listening to “Sailing from Byzantium” when I came across this book. I’ve listened to a lot about English & European history. My husband is a Mason so it pert my interest. I enjoyed learning of a travel from England to Jerusalem and back. How treacherous it was in those times. Not much better today. William seems to be a very honest, trustworthy, loving man. Totally enjoyed the story.

Too Much time on Romance - Little substance

Jonathan Keeble was honestly the only good thing about this book. The story could have been half as long and the romance aspect was WAY too involved/boring.
