After his fiancée jilts him for not spending enough time with her, Avery Brown goes to San Francisco as a guest musician. Vowing to avoid such entanglements in the future, he hadn’t expected to meet such a beautiful young lady as Tessa McDonald or be so attracted to her. However, he won’t change his resolve. Astor is the third woman to be jealous of his violin, and he's had enough.

So far, Tessa has managed to fend off all the men interested in courting her. She wants to build her writing career and continue to work for women’s rights, and most men are too controlling and narrow-minded to accept either. When she meets the visiting violinist from New York City, she likes him, but she doesn’t expect him to be any different. But the more she gets to know him, the more different he appears.

Tessa and Avery both have their reasons for wanting to avoid any serious romantic relationship. Both are determined; there is no one for Tessa that will allow for her independent spirit and desire to have a career; no one for Avery that will allow for his commitment to his music. The attraction is strong, even though they both fight it. They have an interesting journey ahead of them! Such a sweet book and very enjoyable to listen to if you like a sweet romance.

The narration was good and helped the characters to come alive.

I really enjoyed this historical romance. Tessa was a strong woman of both character and faith. Determined to follow her dreams of being a writer which was frowned upon during her time, she decided to not be sidetracked by love. She wanted to be an independent woman.

The Lord has a way of showing us just what we need. Through several trials, the Lord used her to lead a man to his faith and ultimately they fell in love. Initially, neither of them wanted to have a significant other as they thought it would hinder the path they had set for themselves. You have to read the story to see if love was able to prevail or not.

The narration of this story was well done.

I loved how despite the topic of suffrage, and buggy rides this book could easily fit into either an earlier or more contemporary time period.
While I enjoyed much about the narration, her cadence was a bit stilted and not as free flowing as regular conversations are.

I loved the story, the slow build from just being attracted, to enjoying each other's company, to wanting to spend every moment together!

Listening to Tessa’s Time was very enjoyable. Narrator had a soothing voice that relaxed you as you listened. Tessa is a woman, that is ahead of her time. A promising writer and a thinker. She believes women can do what men can and should have the right to. Avery comes to town to perform multiple violin concerts. He leaves New York for San Francisco after a breakup. It seems that he spends too much time with his violin and the ladies don’t like it. He meets Tessa, when she is interviewing him for her uncles newspaper. Avery is intrigued with her, she is not like the other women he has known. Trouble lurks in the background, from a man who wants Tessa, but doesn’t like her being a writer. Great characters and a good storyline.
I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review.
