About this listen

Jamie Valentine is the wildly successful author of self-help books advocating transparency in every relationship. But when her widowed mother passes away unexpectedly, Jamie discovers that her own life has been based on a lie. Angry and deeply betrayed, she sets out to find the truth - which may be in a small town on the Chesapeake Bay.

Cutting her most recent book tour short, Jamie books a room at the Inn at Sinclair's Point, just outside of St. Dennis. The death of Daniel Sinclair's father forced him to take over the family inn, and his wife's death left him a single parent of two children, so there's little room for anything else in his life. His lovely new guest is intriguing, though, and he's curious about the secret she's clearly hiding. But in the end, Jamie and Dan could discover the greatest truth of all: that the search for one thing just might lead to the find of a lifetime - if you keep your heart open.

Continuing Greatness

This story as well as all the others in the Chesapeake Series was an awesome read. Dealing with hidden truths, grieving the loss of a parent and finding love and a new family and coming out on the other side with the love you deserve!!! Amazing

Typical but nice read

Ah- the beautiful people of St. Denis with all of their little problems. With that but of sarcasm aside, I do enjoy reading about the sweet town and the people who choose to live there. This book, along with the rest of the series is the perfect compliment when you need to put your headphones on and mop, do housework, or go on a long car ride.

Negative View of Adoption

While I admire this author and I have enjoyed this series, I was extremely disappointed by the plot's totally negative view of adoption. Any woman or girl who gives up her baby for adoption in hopes of her child having a better life is a hero NOT a villain. In the real world, DNA does not make a good parent; love and maturity does.
