About this listen

This could very well be the definitive American novel. A great success since it was first published. Required reading. Great fun.

A great classic!! Only reason for the missing*are the editing errors found in the audiobook what I mean by this is how the reader repeats himself a few times.

Almost perfect

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I don't know if we'll finish it. I got it to listen with my kids who usually love listening to books. However, the uneducated language along with the authors style of reading makes it pretty difficult for them to follow. This is a classic story that I love but I guess my kids just weren't ready for it!

What didn’t you like about Jim Donaldson’s performance?

Just don't love the twang in his voice, I know he's trying to work with the story but I'd rather just listen to a normal voice.

Don't love the narrator

I just loved it! Well done. Some editing flaws, but great performance by Jim Donaldson. I had forgotten what a great book this is. I will re-listen to this audio book for certain.

Over all a delightful adventure. The narrator's voice was too gruff and deep for the roll of a young boy.

A little slow and drawn out in spots.

This was one of the first audiobooks I bought.

The book itself is amazing and I'm sure you can find better reviews somewhere else.

The narrator, on the other hand, was awful - I could not understand the words he was saying and had to rewind and listen again in the (vain) hope that I will get it. After 30 minutes I paused, checked reviews and worked out many others had complained of the same thing.

The experience taught me to read reviews before purchasing audiobooks. Lesson learnt.

Awful narrator
