Conventions
Fascinating reflection of New York convention in the 1920s and 30s. Pressures on those who care about their status.
Perfect to read before or after Rules of Civility

Countess Ollenska
I found it irritating that the narrator have Countess Ollenska a “foreign” accent. She married a Polish Count, but she was American by birth and upbringing.???
