Publisher's summary

Brandon Phillips is sick of his shallow existence. Sure, he has money...and plenty of it, but that's part of the problem. How can he know that people like him for who he really is? Deciding to wander aimlessly where nobody knows him, he's hoping to find out what kind of man he really is. He's going to prove to himself he's not the spoiled rich kid he was raised to be.

Jessie White loves music and it's now her job. As a blogger, she was often struggling to make ends meet, but after landing a permanent magazine gig, things are looking up. She'd saved every penny to go to the music festival in a small town a few hours away, and she was going to make the most of it. Her interview with an up-and-coming singer was going to really put her on the map.

When Brandon and Jessie bump into each other the night before the music festival starts, neither has any idea how their lives are going to change. There's an immediate spark between them, but will that be enough?

Good

I usually go for longer read this book was better than I expected. I like that Brandon wanted to find a real connection based on him and his personality not his wallet or bank account.

I had about 2 chapters that weren't even for this book. It was a fast story, not bad.

This story made me feel good

Brandon is bored, listless as a rich young man. He feels misunderstood & lonely. He embarks on a trip to "find himself" before fully surrendering to working for his father. While at the music festival, he meets Jessie, and is charmed immediately by her. The attraction goes both ways, but Brandon is afraid of revealing his full identity, while Jessie is afraid of what would happen after the festival is over.

Jessie & Brandon's story is cute. I loved the way that they built their friendship. I also liked that Brandon didn't try to overrun her decisions, or make her feel inferior in any way.

I enjoyed the narration. Christy Lynn did a great job with the different POVs.

I recommend this book.

A little Soul searching

Brandon was dissatisfied with his life and felt like he needed to get away from all the fakeness of the people in his high society friends.
Jessie was a blogger for a magazine who was at a music festival to interview an up and coming band. She meets Brandon the night before and hoped to see him the next day .
Jessie was unlike anyone Brandon had met before. They spent the day together and had quite an adventure. It wasn't until the end that he told her who he really was.
It's a very cute find myself kind of story.

Cute story

This was my first book by April Murdock and it was a cute getting to know you type of story. Brandon and Jessie turn out to be very compatible for one another. Although Brandon seemed a little lost in the beginning, he redeemed himself in the end. Jessie appeared to be sorta silly in the beginning but I was probably as a result of really liking Brandon. Christy Lynn is a new narrator for me. She did an okay job but her voice doesn’t suit the age of the characters represented and is a little to raspy in tone.

Fantastic

Brandon and Jessie had me on a rollercoaster of emotions since the beginning. Surely, everything was worth it as they reached their dreamed HEA. I voluntarily reviewed this audiobook.
