The Silverclaws and the Swift Creek pack have been rivals for years. But now they are coming together because each has been losing lifestock. Swift Creek alpha, Kai, heads to the Silverclaws led by Darius. Elena, Kai's sister, has gone along with them. AS they meet Darius scents his fated mate. He's taken the stand that fated mates don't exist. It was his way when in his youth he searched for but didn't find his. So to him they were a myth. Now here he is facing the one meant for him. He ignores her because he as an alpha can't look like he's wrong. Elena for her part doesn't take kindly to his dismissal. She is as much alpha as her brother and she is not quiet. When they have a meeting to discuss if it's rogues she takes the stand that it isn't. It's something different. Darius does not listen because has no right to state her claims. Then they discover what is taking the livestock. Will Darius keep his stubbornness intact or admit the female who is his mate was right all along?
A wonderful story that will have the reader yelling for Elena!!!.

I read the book several months ago and enjoyed it. The story was interesting and entertaining, which is saying a lot for a book that only has 6 short chapters. The audiobook was good as well, though I was somewhat disappointed in that the narrator's performance did not draw me deeper into the story as some other books I've read and also listened to have. The narrator's character vocalizations were not varied, and she didn't show much emotion or intensity in her reading. She did an okay job of reading the book, but didn't bring it to life, in my opinion.

This is a very short and quick read. It is unexpected fated mates story about Darius and Elena. It is a sweet little story that is predictable but nice. I enjoyed the story and thought the narration was nicely done.

Elena and Darius are good together, but being from opposing packs and Darius's instance that fated mates are a myth. Elena's knack for getting in trouble and being outspoken makes it even more difficult for Darius to accept her as his mate.
Well written short story with believable characters. Only wish there was more about the Rogue pack of shifters, of how Darius and Elena handled them after the danger was over. It made me curious, otherwise a very enjoyable story to read.

The audiobook is done very well. Megan Reedy does an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to her narrate this book.

K. C. Wilde wrote a great book. Meagan Reedy did a great job on the narration. There is spice. The only complaint I have it’s too short. It’s fun, hot and spicy.
