Julia Cameron is singularly spectacular

Creatibity awakened. Thank you Julia! Thank you also Eliza Foss. I work in the theatre sector and in my classes always share morning pages as both a reflective and generative tool in addition to the utility herein discussed. Thank you for this labour of love, for being open to the promptings of the spirit.

God bless.

I would have given this a 5 if not for the constant religious rhetoric

Incredible ideas, fantastic tasks, all incredibly useful to help you grow both as a person and as an artist. The constant god talk was incredibly distracting, and detracted from the whole exercise. It felt a bit like an AA meeting.. you're constantly told to "let go and let god" rather than look inward and find the answers within yourself.

This is a very hard book to get though for the atheist. Useful, but at times excruciating and just cringe inducing. If someone could rewrite this taking out all the god talk, it would be a must read for everyone! Although it would probably be a very short book.

Didn’t like it

I purchased this book because of the reviews and it seemed as very popular book on rediscovering your inner artist. I must admit right from the beginning I felt I am pushing myself in listening just for the sake of purchasing it. The tone in which this is written sounds arrogant to me. I am a bit fed up on her praising of herself how well she did writing this. So far I didnt find any helpful information. It is full of what you must do! So many things you must change, and you must wake up and write pages and pages and did you write those pages? They are going to change your life! And pages…oh, can I just turn this off? Oh, I can. And silence was the richest artist canvas there could be.
