Editorial reviews

The situation is not just scary, it’s terrier-ible. Dogs are hiding under their beds and Doggeroo’s own canine detective, Jack Russell, returns from vacation and immediately is forced to sniff out a solution to the mystery of why. Alan King performs the fifth in this series of chapter books for young listeners with a boisterous playfulness well suited to the hero, as he entertains with "nose maps" and "Jack’s facts" along a path strewn with fun and the clues as to what kind of creature has been frightening all the dogs and cats of Doggeroo.

Critic reviews

"Alan King's animated reading delivers several distinctive characters in this boisterous, engaging mystery, which includes lively music and snappy sound effects." ( AudioFile)

Alan King does a wonderful job of all the voices in this story. Jack sounds suitably heroic, while Foxie and Auntie Tidge are wonderful takes on the characters. We love the Jack Russell books in audio. The engaging characterisations keep us coming back for more, AND they're not abridged.
