About this listen

Few matters are more controversial than the subject of the End Times. Although the Bible is brimming with prophetic material relating to the Last Days, Christian scholars remain quite divided in their understanding of eschatology. Part of the problem stems from the fact that we all tend to read into the End Times our own geopolitical and theological biases. This book aims to rectify this by re-centering the debate to its historic context, namely the Middle East, where the author has spent most of his life ministering to Muslims. Likewise, instead of taking sides in the eschatological arena, the author strives to find middle ground based on balanced Biblical exegesis.

In this book, Jerry Mattix focuses on certain key End Times’ subjects that he believes are better understood from a Middle Eastern perspective. This in particular as it relates to the Last Days' beast prophesied both by Daniel and the apostle John in the Revelation. He also outlines another way of viewing the rapture, which attempts to incorporate the critical elements of opposing perspectives on this hotly debated issue. Throughout the book Jerry Mattix promotes a ‘both/and’ approach to eschatology rather than the usual ‘either/or’ status quo. In the final chapter he lays out an exegetical summary of the book of Revelation which strives to do justice to its Biblical context while allowing the natural development of the text to speak for itself.

Ready for a new perspective on the all important subject of the Last Days? This book will surely challenge your ideas about the End Times and hopefully will urge you to go back to the Bible to study the subject further. More importantly however, it will also provide you an essential roadmap for rough times ahead as well as hope for a glorious future with Christ.
