Publisher's summary

The Big Book of Bad Decisions is a collection of tragicomic vignettes from the hilarious true adventures of Scott Michael Nathan, as he sets out to devour everything Hollywood has to offer — bad dates, worse roommates, A-list celebrities and porn stars, models, moguls, and mushrooms.

“Scott Nathan’s life reads like an east of Doheny Curb Your Enthusiasm. I’m not sure how he’s made so many bad decisions but I’m glad he did so we can be entertained!”
— Zooey Deschanel

“Scott Nathan has been regaling me with his unspeakably filthy, raucous stories for decades now. I always wonder how he gets himself in these predicaments, but the truth is, he’s a natural born misfit-magnet.”
— Dita Von Teese

“I thought there was no way this redhead could get into so much mischief and debauchery but, lo and behold… it’s all true. I often refer to Scott as a more charismatic, slightly more articulate Forrest Gump.”
— Jack Osbourne

“I’ve known Scott Nathan for years and, I have to say, he has an almost preternatural gift for making bad decisions.”
— Dr. Drew Pinsky

“At the CIA we laugh and cringe simultaneously— making Scott Nathan a national asset. Read this book and laugh until you cry. It’s your patriotic duty.”
—Laura Ballman, Former CIA Operations Officer

“Nathan can’t throw for shit, but he’s the only guy I know who can smash 100 MPH fastballs while on mushrooms. Great read!”
— Brad Penny, World Series Champion Pitcher

“After knowing Scott for years and reading his stories, I’ve come to realize he’s a real deal rodeo cowboy trapped in a photographer’s body.”
— Luke Branquinho, PRCA World Steer Wrestling Champion

“Nathan lights like Caravaggio, writes like Hemingway, and screws like Siffredi.”
— Charlotte Sartre, AVN Award Winner

I'm really bad at writing reviews

Suffice it to say I listed to the whole thing in one day! If you love juicy, salacious stories, you will love this. I need volume 2 yesterday.

Rip-roaring funny content, brilliant performance.

These stories and their content stretch the absolute limits of credulity, yet anyone who's navigated the mad Hollywood world of film, celebrity, modeling, photography, advertising, media and dating in Los Angeles knows that if you're working in or around any of these businesses, you can't make this shit up. Not all of it anyway. Expect cameos from the likes of Bill Clinton, O J Simpson, the Dalai Lama, the Playboy Mansion and so on, while you journey to hipster places, east coast and west, and globally from eastern Europe to awards shows to New York to Malibu beach homes and back to the tundra of Chicago's winter, where Nathan hails from.

Nathan's commentary is nothing short of a 'performance' and a good one at that -- cruising eloquently through his life journey like an accidental tourist in a strange universe where he sees sense (and everyone else is mad) but its his startling self-awareness and innocent abroad attitude that is most endearing. You can't help but be entertained by the underlying eagerness to self-analyze (and find out why he's repeatedly in these situations) but maybe that's just the memoirist in him coming through.

There's lots of sex, drugs, rock n roll and, er golf which makes it all round super entertaining.

I got lost in Nathan's irreverent tone on a transatlantic flight, laughed out loud and listened again a week later while hiking as he's such good company. Get it, it's a lot of fun.

I loved it! Lots of laughter.

I really enjoyed hearing about all his ups and downs in life and what a life it has been.
Can’t wait to read about his next 40 years.

Ridiculously entertaining

If you need to give up your addiction to scrolling on social media or heroin, I honestly think this book could break almost any cycle of vice by shocking your senses and engaging your brain on every word of every ridiculously entertaining story. Celebrities, politicians, and porn stars, oh my! I can’t WAIT for volume 2!!!

Amazing Storytelling & Narration

Scott did an amazing job recounting some of the most fascinating tales from his life. I was glued to my AirPods and listened to everything within a weekend. I’m glad he was able to narrate the book himself. I have been a long time follower of Scott on TikTok, and I was really looking forward to this release. Give this a listen, and you won’t be disappointed.

I have one complaint about this book. .

My one complaint about this book is it's simply not long enough. I listen to it in one day. It is left out loud funny and Scott Nathan is a great storyteller and narrator. I hope he has more stories to share for a second book!

Loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed Scott’s book. You find him at the center of so many wild amazing stories, and his conversational tone allows you to tagalong on his wild journey. His sense of humor and nonchalant way about him makes him one of the coolest cats around. I’m so glad he chose to read the book himself as he’s got one hell of a personality.
