An intriguing story very passionately told

The sample had me hooked from the very beginning. It is most definitely worth the 3 hours of listening. The narrator was very engaging and dramatic in all the write places. I found myself wishing for more from this gifted storyteller.

Audiobook is even better than the paperback

I read the paperback last year and loved it. Could not wait to hear this format and was not disappointed. The narrator had me on the edge of my seat for 3 solid hours even though I already knew what was going to happen. She really brought it to life and lifted the words right off the page in such a dramatic and emotional way. I felt like I was sitting at the kitchen table listening to Mrs. Williams tell her somewhat depressing and sad story which turned out to be quite uplifting and encouraging. I will probably dream about these people tonight as if they are part of my family. It was just that good!

Suspenseful and Easy Listening

I read the hard copy, but this added a new dimension. I wanted to fully enjoy the audible version and chose to listen while working in my yard. I found myself stopping to hear what was coming up (as though I had not read the book). I thoroughly enjoyed this the 2nd time around. It was fun being read to.
