About this listen

My alien is engaged. Yeah, I’m still trying to wrap my head around that one. Apparently, Kade and his fiancée are desperate to have a baby, and that’s where I come in. Except the longer I’m around the couple, the more I’m not so sure this is arrangement is a good idea. Or that the happy couple is even happy...

There’s a part of me that wants to get pregnant as soon as possible so I can be left in peace. However, each of Kade’s gentle touches and soft kisses compel me to change my mind. With the impending war looming, Kade is more insistent I stay close at all times, but the more I’m around him, the more I’m in real danger...of falling for him.

It’s not necessary, but highly recommended that the series be listened to in order.

They should have used a man's voice for the !ale parts it would have taken the book even further.

Love Kade’s British Accent

I really liked Jim Ellis’ British dialect; it was oh so sexy and nasty! This book was pretty good. A little different spin on the storyline was welcome. Love these men with extraordinary physique! Look forward to listening to the next book.

Lisa

Okay so I'm confused it says it has two narrator's but there is only one? The female narrator and let me tell ya all these female narrators can not do the male charters voices at all!! How are we supposed to picture these 7 foot tall all bulked out with muscle guy's who sound like a little child and a girl child at that!? why not get a male to read the male charters? To me the whole story is destroyed with only a female narrator . I can only give 2 stars because of it..

Trigger Warning

This book deals with issues of physical and mental abuse but not in the right way. The woman lead character was abused by her father and her new love interest in scenes in bending her over and spanking her during sex. Absolutely not a healthy way to write about trauma. I liked the other books in this series but this was just too much.

Not a fan of this one

I’ve enjoyed others in this series but this one isn’t doing it for me. Not as fun or sexy to me. The narrator has a nice voice but a bit too serious, making this book not feel like a fun ride but a serious nonfiction novel.

After 2 great books this one is so disappointing

Regardless of James Ellis being listed as a narrator, only Natalie Heng narrates this story. Maybe this was a post production change, but it was definitely not what I expected. Natalie Heng has a British accent but can do decent American accents, but the issue is she can not do male voices very well so it was a bit silly at times. These types of stories are just not suitable for her voice tone and type of narration so it was a let down.

As for the story, I really didn't like it at all. I was hoping there would be a bit more but it just felt like both main characters were going in circles with themselves with awkward sex scenes wedged in. The redeeming part of this story was the continued world building and it's very short length.

If you are a completionist, then you can get through it to check it off the list, but if not, then just skip it. The world building isn't so significant that you'll miss anything critical.
