About this listen

He swears by his boundaries. But did he cross the line?

At eight o'clock on a blustery, mid-January morning, Charles Bliss is summoned to the head of school's office at Carrington Academy. Charles, a teacher at the elite Connecticut boarding school, is surprised by the unusual request, but when he arrives, no time is wasted. Charles learns that he has been accused of engaging in a romantic relationship with a student.

The student behind the accusation, Hayley Goodloe, is the daughter of a state senator, the granddaughter of an ex-governor, and an heiress to a massive fortune.

But Charles has long prided himself on keeping proper boundaries with his students. He insists he would never cross the line... or would he? Hayley's diary makes it clear she had strong feelings for her teacher. Was it just an unrequited schoolgirl crush? Or was it something more?

When Hayley disappears under suspicious circumstances, a daunting pile of evidence points to Charles as the chief suspect. Charles swears he's being framed. And it soon becomes apparent there's only one way he can clear his name.

Find her.

Perfect for fans of Harlan Coben and Jodi Picoult.

Couldn’t stop listening! Like Brad’s other works, the clever storyline keeps you guessing until the end and keeps you on edge, waiting for the next piece of the puzzle! Loved this book too!

A New First For Me

I was looking for something a little different and made a great choice. This is a beautifully written and complex book made easy to understand with a great narrator and fast (but not too fast) pace. The best part of a good book is the way it lingers with you long after you finish. This is one of those books.

A fun "who done it" story

Overall the book is entertaining with a good mix of characters where you're not sure who really is guilty. It's a quick, fun book to listen to. It does at times go far fetched with some of the story line but hey, don't a lot of books?

I'm not sure if it was a production problem, but you can hear Joe taking breaths before he reads. It's annoying and I would have thought they would cut that out in production. He's reading is good otherwise and hearing the breath is not every time. There is one chapter that Teralyn reads that is just flat out hilarious. (Not going to spoil it for you).
