About this listen

Dennis was different.

Why was he different, you ask?

Well, a small clue might be in the title of this book...

Charming, surprising and hilarious - David Walliams' beautiful first novel will touch the hearts (and funny bones) of children and adults alike.

Now David teams up with Matt Lucas to produce an audiobook with a difference. Read by two of the brightest stars in sketch comedy, this lavish production brings the hilarious voices behind Little Britain to your nearest earphones. And it tells a fantastic story, too...

**Book Review: *The Boy in the Dress* by David Walliams (Audible Edition)**

David Walliams' *The Boy in the Dress* is an absolute gem, and the Audible version elevates it to a whole new level of entertainment. My children and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, whether we were winding down before bed, stuck in traffic after school, or simply looking for a story to brighten our day.

The narrative is heartwarming and humorous, tackling themes of acceptance, individuality, and friendship in a way that resonates with both kids and adults. The characters are brilliantly brought to life by the expressive voices in the audiobook, adding depth and charm to an already fantastic story.

It’s a must-listen for families looking for a story that’s as thought-provoking as it is entertaining. Highly recommend it for shared listening time—you’ll find yourselves laughing, reflecting, and rooting for Dennis, the unforgettable boy in a dress.

I'm just sick of books that set up fat people as the villains or persistently associate fatness with negative personal traits or immorality, ranging from sloppy dressing through laziness, to downright malevolence. We turned this book off pretty quickly once we realised Walliams was going to be making endless mileage out of the lead character's fat father. It's a boring and unimaginative way to get your laughs, and also unkind. Not into it. Next!

Boringly fatphobic
