Bernie the Burglar

I love this series, and this book in particular is my favorite. I believe this is the only book in this series read by Frank Muller. He does a wonderful job with different voices and accents of the characters. Mr. Block, please write more.

Bernie Becomes Bogey...

More fun at the bookstore. This series is great fun I'm glad I still have a few more left. Muller's narration exceeded my expectations. His Lively interpretations are extraordinary and made this volume great fun. The regular crew is all here and and with a new batch of dastardly suspects lurking throughout the plot. As Bernie does his Bogart bits visions of Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henried and that rumbling plane. Leaving Casablanca Airport flashed in my head . I have seen l have seen all these movies many many times The Narrative here is straightforward silly and quite believable for Bernie... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I Don't Know How He Does It

Lawrence Block is a great writer. He must research stories all day, every day. Excellent story, the very best characters. I love this series!

An entertaining listen

These days I find myself a bit tired of vampires and gritty crime drama. The Burglar Who Thought He Was Bogart was a much needed departure from those genres - a fun, easy listen. The story was fun, but it was really the narrator who made it come to life for me, with his droll, urban voice. Highly recommended.

Not Block’s best in the Buglar series

It may have been the narrator but Frank Muller just doesn’t ring true. Richard Ferrone will always be Barney’s in my mind. It was just off to be. There are better ones in Block’s Burglar series. I have listened to them all in order and enjoyed everyone. I was disappointed in this one.

Entertaining and funny

It's easy to get caught up in the characters Frank Muller brings to life through his reading. How the author presents the story is entertaining and he dispays a fun sense of humor with his witty dialogue. If you are a film noir fan, the ending will be somewhat predictable. Recommended reading.
