About this listen

When a brutal murder brings a century-old rumor of buried treasure to light on the quiet Southern plantation of Carrington Farms, Claire Carrington and Sheriff Beau Henderson must team up to piece together the clues and solve the murder. But as they dig deeper, they uncover secrets that could put their own lives in danger.

Beau Henderson has never forgotten the one kiss he and Claire Carrington shared in high school. Now fifty years later, Claire has inherited the family farm and has come back home. As they share time together investigating the murder, he realizes his feelings for Claire are much more than a high school fantasy.

Claire’s heart beats a little faster when she and Beau are together, and she thinks the feelings are mutual. But Claire has a secret of her own and an unopened letter she finds in her mom's kitchen drawer will blow it wide open.

Are Claire and Beau ready for a second chance? Or will it be too late for second chances when the killer comes to call again?

A fast-paced mystery with a Southern flair, The Caretaker’s Cottage is a must-read for fans of suspense and romance.

I loved this book, it is well written. I enjoyed the characters and the depth.
However, AI Virtual voice is NOT IT for reading books. This book has some souther dialogue and virtual voice ruined it, thus taking away from the book.
Virtual voice has either no inflection or inflection in the complete wrong spot. Please stop virtual voice! It cannot beat a real person.

AI virtual voice not it

I loved seeing characters from the series! I am sad there isn’t another book. I love these people & this place. We have dealt with so many of life’s ups & downs with caring friends & Christian guidance! Thank you, Glenda!
I do miss real people as narrators. I also missed the name “Rev Rock.”

There is not really anything happening, a bit monotone, same as the AI narrator.

I loved the way the people in this story fell back on their faith to guide them. There were lots of Southern “things” I had forgotten and enjoyed recalling them. I do think there was maybe one or two too many story lines going on, but it was all tied up with a pretty little bow in the end.

This was a slow book. There’s no mention of it being read by a generated voice and you could tell it was. I personally don’t like the voice and try my best to stay away from them. I don’t recommend this book/

I didn’t like this book at all.
