I love fact that I live in the area the book is written about and I have been to all the towns that's in the book. It gives me a feel of what my local history was.

While I found this book somewhat interesting, I do not understand why the publisher claims that the Anderson case 'defined his career'. The sideline plots (completely unrelated to the case) gives yet another review of how the Republica party came to be.

I found that there really wasn't anything in this book that I didn't already know and it really wasn't about the murder case so much as it was about the formation of the Republican Party. Pretty dry at that.
