Fantastic narration and interesting stories. Great for a road trip. Some of these stories have been made into Datelines and other true crime shows.

Interesting stories

I thought I was getting a single story of a missing person that would have many twist and turns but instead this is just a compilation of different crimes. It’s not terrible but if your looking to for one very interesting story be prepared for a few stories which are more cut and dry.

if you enjoy cases that are peculiar or not as cut-and-dry as they seem this book is definitely for you. If you are interested in the entrapment defense there's a particularly interesting case in this book are really make you think. Unfortunately the subject matter will also make you lose faith in human beings. But if you have an access point I'd say you've been living under a rock but definitely worth the credit if you can't find a book you're just really excited to listen to

I feel this was a great book by a great author. In my opinion, Mark Bowden has the ability to plug into your mind and is a master of evocation. While some seem to want to dazzle you their use of the English language, sacrificing story for "scholardarity", Bowden constructs a clear path from book, to word (done masterfully by narrator Patrick Garrett) to mind.

The stories themselves were very interesting and kept my attention throughout the course of the book. (Which I finished in two sittings) Am hard-pressed to think of another compilation that I enjoyed as much. Highly recommended!

This is a collection of true-crime stories explained in great detail. I didn’t enjoy that crimes were committed, but I did enjoy the storytelling and descriptions of people tirelessly working to find truth.

Fantastic

Moderately entertaining filler book. The author has a skilled writing style, though being fairly short, the attempts at misdirection are rather predictable. The one story that stood above the rest was "why don’t u tell me wht ur into", only because the people involved are so bizarrely uncomfortable that it was like nothing I'd ever heard before (thank goodness). 3 stars seems pretty harsh, but by Audible standards "pretty good" at 3 is more accurate that "it's great" at 4.

Only one story stands out

A collection of short crime stories most of which are murder focused, although it doesn't start that way. Well written and mostly interesting, it was an interesting snippet of his writing during this time.
