Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

We live in a world of seeds. From our morning toast to the cotton in our clothes, they are quite literally the stuff and staff of life, supporting diets, economies, and civilizations around the globe. Just as the search for nutmeg and the humble peppercorn drove the Age of Discovery, so did coffee beans help fuel the Enlightenment and cottonseed help spark the Industrial Revolution. And from the fall of Rome to the Arab Spring, the fate of nations continues to hinge on the seeds of a Middle Eastern grass known as wheat.

Easy to follow and understand
I’ve listened to a lot of raised gardening books for beginners as I’m always curious about the different tips and tricks that they will share. This book was very easy to follow. I found that each chapter was full of information, but it was not overwhelming. The other did a good job of explaining the wise behind their instruction, which was great because instead of just following instructions, I could actually understand the reason why I needed to.
We bought a house in the country and I really have the space to be able to set this up and so I’ve been listening to multiple books and combining each of the tips and tricks that I’ve heard but this book overall really made me feel like I am ready to start my garden.
