My grandson, who is now twenty (20) years old and still listens to Hank's adventures, introduced me to "Hank the Cow Dog" when he (my grandson, not Hank) was still just a pup (as Hank would say). His Mom's Mom sent recorded CD's to him from her local library and new fans were born. The CD's are getting worn out from constant playing and I still laugh at Hank and Drover's (mis)adventures.
"The Cookie Moon" is another of Mr. Erickson's finest. He comes up with new ideas for stories all of which grab your attention and the songs are truly creative.
What is the moon made of? How do Hank and Drover use scientific methods to arrive at their conclusions? Does Hank manage to use his will power regarding SallyMae's oatmeal cookies and what are the results? Does Drover get his promised oatmeal cookie? Who gets the blame for the picnic basket fiasco and how did it happen? Where do the contents of the picnic basket go? I'm not going to reveal the answers to these questions. You'll just have to find out for yourself. I defy you not to smile and laugh out loud!
Thank you Mr. Erickson for Hank and all of the other characters in your stories. A grateful 70 year old grandmother.
Laugh out loud terrific!
