About this listen
In The Crackler, the sound of deception crackles through the quiet streets. When counterfeit notes begin to circulate in London, Tommy and Tuppence Beresford are drawn into a world where danger hides behind every seemingly innocent corner. As they chase down shadows and clues, their path is lined with double-crosses, false leads, and an untraceable mastermind. Who's the puppet master, pulling strings from the shadows? With a sense of irony and a hint of humor, this case pushes Tommy and Tuppence to their limits, unraveling a scheme more intricate than they could ever imagine. Sometimes, a piece of paper holds the power to shape lives—and this paper? It's pure dynamite.

Story
After the killing of a prominent mob lawyer, NYPD homicide detectives Jacob Jackson and Caitlin Grimes start receive chilling, written “rules” for how to commit the perfect murder. "Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind." Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”

His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. monotonous reader
The Christie story was fine, good interaction. The narrator was not an actor, and had no expression.

The Worst Narrator Ever
I must say up front: I had to stop after five or six minutes. The narrator was either produced via AI, or the entire tale was written by and narrated by AI.
The narrator's phrasing at the end of words and sentences was so appalling that I lost all interest in the tale. I had to stop listening. It was impossible even to try to capture the flavor of the story with the idiotic narration blocking all interest in what could have been a clever short story by Agatha if it indeed was written by her at all.
