About this listen
Benji Rosen, Nikki Denton, Joe Bracken, Rebecca Scott, and Charlie Robbins have been best friends since birth. Hailing from the Hubbard Hills neighborhood, they are known around town as the “Hubbard Hills Five.”
While packing for a summer vacation before their senior year of high school, the Hubbard Hills Fives’ charmed lives are thrown into turmoil when Benji is stricken with a malignant brain tumor. The initial treatments are ineffective against Benji’s cancer. With Benji’s health deteriorating and hope waning, the Hubbard Hills Five create a novel way to fight cancer. Instead of bowing to the status quo which has failed to yield a cure, the Hubbard Hills Five put a bounty on cancer. The bounty is designed to incentivize curing cancer in the hope that those capable of finding a cure do so and, thus, are deservedly rewarded.
Of course, not all people see the bounty as a beneficial approach to curing the deadly and lucrative disease known as cancer. Big pharma and their government allies desiring to preserve the status quo target the bounty for termination. Faced with mounting official pressure, the Hubbard Hills Five seek to preserve the bounty and overturn the status quo. The question, then, is can they succeed on their own? If not, who will stand up to help them?
