About this listen

Do you know what goes on in the mind of a person who is demonically possessed? Jeffrey does. After the death of his father and a minibike accident, 14-year-old Jeffrey experiences bizarre nightmares, physical ailments, and terrible out-of-body experiences. He realizes his mother, sister, and cousin distance themselves - as if they are frightened. Inside his mind, a demon taunts, torments, and terrorizes him with wicked images, horrid imaginations, and vicious pain. All Jeffrey can do is endure his never-ending nightmare and wait for his family and his local parish priest, Father Matthew, to help him.

Very fast-paced, with a likeable lead—this was okay. Mildly interesting.
I liked the idea of reading about demonic possession from the victim’s POV. The writing could be a bit stronger, but it’s not bad by any means.

It also shows alternating timelines and the reader gets a slight trip into the past, as well as a look at the lead’s core personality.

Overall
It’s okay.

The concept for this book is very interesting. I loved Jeffery’s personality and the narrator did a great job bringing out this teen boy’s persona. The details of the horror aspect are very good, very scary. There were a lot of times where I was confused on the specific events taking place. Understandably, this might be intentional but even skipping from one setting to the next, pre-possession was hard when listening to this on audio. This might be easier to read than to listen to. The ending was very good!
